While a large percentage of people have the day off, I get to to work! While I was off work last week, today being a Federal Holiday, I get to go to work!. I would love to take the day off, using sick leave.. but as I only have 40 hours for the rest of the year, I'll bundle up against the cold, and brave the icy streets. Since I've cooked enough in the last few days, I have plenty for lunch, and have most of the meals for the week covered.

It isn't so much that I mind my job once I'm there.. it's just the getting out in the ice that really puts a damper on the situation. I don't worry so much about myself, I drive slow & cautious in this stuff. It is the other guy that thinks icy roads means to floor it. Then seems shocked when the vehicle he is driving, *or her* gets out of control.

Yesterday I knitted most of the day. I watched a bit of tv, some movies and fought my computer to try to log on here. I finally gave up. Now, that I fell asleep early, I have woke up too early. So.. I'm taking advantage to add this before I go to work in about 3 hours.

While I remember the joys of childhood when school was cancelled, I now, as an adult wish that sometimes I could go back to those times. I understand one can't turn back time... but wouldn't it be nice to just visit as a shadow, and remember some of our favorite times.... Oh well, I suppose our memories aren't totaly infallable.

I hope that this day finds you with something to smile about.. be it simple or complex. Don't forget to say hi!

Hi snowbear.

What a neat name!

I hope work goes well for you today.  I know, as a former taxidriver and busdriver,  that it's usually the other guy that is fishtailing and sliding around in the snow and/or ice that is the usual cause of accidents because they just won't slow down!

It's just not fair!  If kids get the day off,  so should everyone!!  No Kidding!  Just bring the states to a complete stop..then again the hospital and nursing home workers are so absolutely needed...ahhh well..I thought it would be nice for everyone to have the day off!

Yep, I get the honor of working out in this crap today too. I've been so busy dealing with the effects of the weather that I haven't had time to knit for 2 days now. I'm hoping to get some time in on it tonight.

Stay safe out there.
