something worth watching is on

lately there seems to be a lot of old movies on tv. I guess it is due to the strike. From what I understand about the strike, the writers are upset they aren't getting enough money, so they put a lot of other people out of work. Make sense.. NOT

There are some movies I haven't seen in years. They are enjoyable, entertaining, and some exciting are playing.

So it's Sunday night, housework is done for another week, lunches and breakfasts are made, and I'm taking a sleeping pill so I can get some sleep. Tomorrow is Monday, I didn't win the lottery so its off to work.

Hope everyone has a great week, thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to say hi!

heheeheh, funny you notice that.  I've noticed similar issues with labor in just about every strike type situation over the last 40 - 60 years.

Occassionally there are issues that demand a strike for the good of everyone, but this didn't seem to be such a time and of course the writers that were on strike didn't care a whit about the others that lost work and income because of their actions.  The actors and actresses didn't care either as most of them make plenty of money for their work so they could afford the downtime or go off and work on something else.

Too bad that in the long run a bunch of workers in the industry will soon be former workers because the networks will yet again be looking at adding more reality programming as they can do that very cheaply, or at least very cheaply compared to scripted series.

I like some of the newer movies, but I have found myself flipping through channels looking for GOOD movies.  Ones like Father Goose, Duck You Sucker, McClintock, and on and on.  The common theme is that the ones I really enjoy watching over and over again, were all made pre-1980 (with the exceptions of Star Wars and Star Trek).

Old Movies (I guess not as old as my mother loves) - they dont make them like that any more.

My daughter grew up watching movies with me. She loves the old musicals, Cary Grant, John Wayne, Clark Gable, and all the hollywood STARS.. I mean the Golden Era of Hollywood. I love the old movies, and there are very very few movies that can match the Golden Era...
