A trip to the library sounds good

I've tried to find good tv. I've tried to find good movies. OK.. A trip to find a good book sounds like a good deal. Daytime tv isn't that big a deal as I'm not home but one week day a week. But the prime time tv selection isn't worth looking at. OK the strike is over, but still the shows that will come back will take a while. I firmly believe renting some good books on tape is my best bet.

Is it just me or has the entertainment changed. They are remaking the classics, but not with the style and grace that the old classics had.

Is it impossible to come up with a new idea?

OK,, I'm off at soapbox.

Maybe I should attack that closet I've put off cleaning

I'll do something physical while listening to some golden oldies. Why are the old days so comforting, when during those days, lol we were frustrated as I remember. I guess there is no pleasing some people, lol

Okay here are my recommendations for what they are worth.

Good TV - Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations on the Travel Channel, Monday nights, Project Runway on Bravo, Wednesday nights, The Closer on TNT, they are showing reruns on Monday night but you could always rent the entire season on DVD, on and I think Psych on USA Friday nights is hilarious.

Good DVD's to rent - Once, Songcatcher, Stardust, Waitress, the World's Fastest Indian

Good books - The Memory Keeper's Daughter, The Lovely Bones, A Walk in the Woods, Enrique's Journey, all the Stephanie Plum books by Janet Evanovich, Barefoot Heart, oh and anything by Elizabeth Peters especially the Amelia Peabody books and anything by Barbara Michaels

And yes, you are absolutely right.  The remakes are never as good, except for the new Battlestar Gallatica, love that.
