There should be a law

Ok.. sooo not fair. I'm up early.. everything the go to go to work. I warm up my car, move slowly out of my drive, and onto a street. I was about 1/2 mile from my home when a 4-wheel drive truck blew past me, fishtailed, forcing me to aim for the side of the road, and he didn't even slow down.

I wish 4-wheel drive owners had to pass a drivers test explaining that 4-wheel drive doesn't mean a thing on ice!. You can't stop any faster! Gezzzzzzzzzzzz. I've driven in snow & ice since in drivers ed... I move slow but steady, stay out of the fast lane, and try not to have to slam on my brakes at any time. Then there are these idiots who due to their vehicle having 4 wheel drive, thinks they can stop on a dime in ice, and cause a majority of the problems.

He had a red light 20 yds from where he left me... it was obvious I was on the side and he didn't even look back. All that hurry, and the light was red when he blew past me!.

Sorry, just ruined a good Monday morning. I was able to rock the car free of the small ditch on the side of the road, and was so frustrated, and aggrevated, I just blew today off. I very very rarely do that. Maybe once a year, if that. I came home, called work, took the day off, and headed for a hot shower. I relaxed, ate breakfast, and unwound.

I'm working on a baby blanket for the new grandson, over 1/2 way finished. Talked w/ daughter, all in all things going ok there.

So, I'm going to crash early tonight, work tomorrow, but new low tonight... ZERO!. At least this will help kill some of the bugs. That is the only thing I keep telling myself as I trudge out to my car at 5:40 a.m. with the wind chill etc.

Tomorrow will be better. I will be positive, and not allow some jerk to ruin my day. I will be positive. I will keep telling myself that all day long. Look forward, not back. Dang though I wish I could have explained things to him though, lol

Take care, thanks for reading.. and don't forget to say hi!

4 Wheel drive means you can get unstuck in mud and snow.  Not that it will actually drive better on snow and ice.  My neighbor, a fire fighter knows that very well as he totalled his Subaru on the ice coming home from work (they never get a day off due to the weather).

Idiots. I see SUVs and FWD trucks in ditches all over the country when the weather is bad.

I had a head-on collision with a semi when I was driving my Jeep Cherokee in 4-wheel drive, so I too know that it's not the magical traction device some people seem to think that it is.

I so agree w/ all of the above. I love 4WD for getting unstuck... but why can't people use their heads and realize it doesn't work on ice.. oh yeah.. of course... they would have to use their heads!
